Wing Mirror Glass Replacement

My drivers side wing mirror's heating element is broken, and so I've been on the lookout for replacement glass, but I am not to keen on paying the

I had to replace the same one on my galaxy after someone cliped my mirror and broke it, I only paid about

I had the pleasure of having both mirror glasses stolen a couple of months back.

Apparently they are the same as fitted to Black Cab taxis ... not that I'm suggesting anything !

 

Anyway for the two glasses it was only (only??)

I had a look at a 2003 TDI Ghia Galaxy in the car park at work today and noted that it did not have the 'ashperical' section on the outside of the drivers door mirror. I think this is what adds the extra

Well I was totally wrong, its not just the ashperical bit the Galaxy's are completely different to the Shalhambra... doh! :)

Does anybody know whether Fords sells aspheric glass for the mirror on the driver' side? Had it on my Sharan but my Gal has plain glass which gives quite a large blind spot.Thx,

My Jan 2001-registered Gal has aspheric glass in the driver's door mirror, so Ford must do it !
